Because the board got shutdown again because of a load of database, I had to fettle with the settings again.
As part of that, the server no longer stores what topics you have or haven't read.
IT IS STILL RECORDED!
But now, that information lives in a delicious cookie, rather than the forum database.

Upside: this should reduce the load of database.
Downside: if you use multiple devices to access the board, or you reject delicious cookies, you won't always have that information cookie. But the New Posts feature should take care of that.

The Nuke and Pave shirt is still in the Aerostich catalog

Post by WeAintFoundShit » Mon Oct 19, 2009 3:03 pm

Catalog came in the mail today, I thumbed through it and found the Nuke and Pave shirt.

Been around a LONG time to still be featured in the catalog. I wonder how many folks out there own one who have no clue/don't give a fuck who we are.

These people make some of the best riding gear on the planet, really. It's pricey, and totally worth it.

My Nuke & Pave shirt, bought at the Factory, led me to surf this Electronic Wharf of Debauchery.

WAFS, did you get the little supplemental catalog? Has a cool "plate flip" mechanism in it. Don't think it's in the on-line catalog.

I got a paper catalog, but didn't see a plate flip. Did see a flip down, behind the plate stash box, though... Looks pretty neat!

I've probably told this story a dozen times, but I'll tell it again.

I was at Laguna Seca in 2005 and saw the bomb&bars logo on somebody's back (the Nuke and Pave shirt has a small one up near the neck). I grabbed this guy and said "Hey, I AM RABBIT FIGHTER!", to which he replied, "um . . . I am Steve?" He looked kind of freaked out, but when I started talking about his shirt, he just mumbled something about the Aerostich catalog and did his best to move along.

I just saw this flipping through my dad's catalog while visiting for the holidays and was quite suprised. I must have missed this thread before. What's the story? Did the ootmik who did the original design sell it to Aerostich? Or how else did it end up there?

I was quite surprised to see it there, among all the doodads and fancy whatsits!

Long story short. His Beemerness had the rights to the shirt with a previous group and Aerostich sold them then. Oddly enough, I had pulled our my "Nuke and Pave" shirt this morning and am wearing it, but it has a different logo on the back. Yep, I'm THAT fucking old. :P
Cheers,

This image without text is painted (printed?) on the end of the counter at Vanson

They almost had me print it on the shirt, but once the realized that Aerostitch has one as well decided against it.

and there's the one I ended up printing on the back of the tees they brought to Indy designed by Kevin Nixon.

Charcoal color shirt with either off white or dark charcoal print, they could not decide which they like better so we ran both. Can't seem to find mine, but I only have to dig through few hundred...
