Because the board got shutdown again because of a load of database, I had to fettle with the settings again.
As part of that, the server no longer stores what topics you have or haven't read.
IT IS STILL RECORDED!
But now, that information lives in a delicious cookie, rather than the forum database.

Upside: this should reduce the load of database.
Downside: if you use multiple devices to access the board, or you reject delicious cookies, you won't always have that information cookie. But the New Posts feature should take care of that.

Some unpleasant miscreant was firing incessant database queries at our server, which forced the Legal Department of our hosting company, via their Abuse subdivision, to shut us down. No I have none.
All I can do it button the hatches, and tighten up a few things. Such as time limits on how long you may take to compose a post and hit Debauch! As of 24/01/10, I've set that at 30 minutes for now.

Yes. But there's only so much the Administerrerrerr can do to keep this place running.

I want to learn how to ride a motorcycle.

Last night, I had this awesome dream that I was riding my wife's TS185 around a parking garage, powersliding around turns and having an absolute blast (in my dream, it weighed the same, but had the low end torque of a 650 4-stroke).

I remember jumping out of my seat when I saw that. Blew me away.

I really hope Melandri can deliver again once he's back at Honda. His performance this year has been nothing short of amazing, considering the conditions he's been working under.

Not to take away from Marco but he was just showing off, McCoy can crack a record lap times sliding about, That's why they call him the King of Slide. He doesn't just burn off the tire but manages to get it to the end of the race, unfortunately for him his style is more suited for a 500 class that went away just as he was starting to show some results.

I've seen Aaron Yates do similar smokeshow but his lap times suffer.

Hope Melandri does well, always liked his style but he already had a shot at the fame during his stint at Ducati...
