As part of that, the server no longer stores what topics you have or haven't read.

Upside: this should reduce the load of database.
Downside: if you use multiple devices to access the board, or you reject delicious cookies, you won't always have that information cookie. But the New Posts feature should take care of that.

Funny commercial.

The one guy said that in a decade, I would be forced to make a decision between buying a minivan and laser tattoo removal. I got my first tattoo about 15 years ago and I have yet to be presented with that decision.

I'll never own a minivan, and I have no regrets about the few tattoos I have.

Though, I've seen a lot of dumb tattoos that I would regret.

This is no shit:

I knew a guy, who knew a guy who was a soldier in Korea. An American, on duty rotation there in the 80's, maybe. Guy takes his shirt off at a picnic years later and he has these horrible scars above each nipple. Horrible. Finally, someone asks about the scars and he explained, "Yeah, well, one night me and a bunch of guys went out and got wasted in Korea. I woke up the next day with tattoos above each nipple. One said, 'sweet' and the other said 'sour'. I have no idea what prompted me to do that. So about a month later, I get drunk again and have my buddies hold me down and cut them off with a K-bar. That's why I have the scars. But they're cooler than a stupid tattoo."

It took me 30 years to decide what I wanted to get tattooed on my skin, what I could live with forever. And even though Priest scoffed at the big tattoo of my most prized guitar, I'll always cherish it (partly because it was done by a very dear friend, my old bass player, who used to draw pretty pictures for Disney).

I got my minivan the same year I got the tattoos. I pitched the seats immediately, and my bike fits nicely in the back, thank you very much.

The guy at :57 is classic.

Another "I knew a guy" story, this one is about regrettable tattoos that are in the process of removal:

The president of the honors society at my community college was an ex nazi skin. He's the classic after school special: Super hard out nazi skin goes to jail, in jail he sees reality and gets out of the life, goes on to be a role model and the president of the fucking honors society. OK, awesome as fuck, right? The only problem was that he was LITERALLY head to toe in white power tats. He is currently in the long process of having them all lasered off.

That's the set-up; here's the fun part.
He went to the state meeting of Alpha Gamma Sigma (the state wide honors society), where there was some part of the function where all of the chapter presidents had to get up and do some sort of goofy slow dance with each other to entertain the rest of the crowd. He teams up with some black girl, and they start doing their thing. A few moments into the show, the thought apparently dawns on him that he was wearing shorts, had his back turned to the crowd, and still had "WHITE" tattooed down the back of one calf, and "POWER" tattooed down the back of the other.
He said that when he got those tats, he got them to be plainly visible across the prison yard. Now he's on stage, dancing with a black girl, in from of the statewide honors society.
Oops.

It doesn't work with tall handlebars, but you could just loosen the clamps and rotate the bar back and down, out of the way. I got about a six foot long 2x12 and loading is utterly drama-free, thanks to the low deck height. I use the seat mounts for tie down points.

I'm on my third minivan, got the first one to haul the bike to the track and now one is my daily driver. One draw back of having a bike in the van is if you have a leaky carb or gas cap goes not seal youre in for a smelly trip, usually happens when hauling ancient scooters.

Still no tats.

Mine's a '95 Grand Caravan SE with the 3.8L V6. Surprisingly peppy... before I parked it. It needs at least $1000 work to get it roadworthy again, so it's storage for motorcycle parts at the moment.

Mine has a 3.5L v-tech, I imagine not much different from the engine in NSX (except for the heads), not sure what a 1/4 mile time is but with 250 bhp it's no slouch! When I power past somebody in a BMW or some other gutless european sport exotic the look on their faces is priceless!

Handles like a boat though, still I can usually take anyone in a corner since most of the drivers here have no balls!

that was pretty funny - and holds very true for those getting tattoos for some kind of external validation.

them: i would never get a tattoo but yours are nice.

me: i would never dye my hair blonde - but it suits you.

MATPOC wrote:Mine has a 3.5L v-tech, I imagine not much different from the engine in NSX (except for the heads),
Not exactly. The C30A 3.0 V-6 in the NSX was the first production automotive engine to use titanium connecting rods, which combined with forged pistons and lightweight valvetrain allowed for an 8,000 rpm redline, extraordinarily high for a V6 of that size in 1991.

The C30A evolved into the 3.2L C32B for the '97-up NSXs.

Note that Honda's letter designations are misleading since the C32A engine found in the Acura Legend/TL has no commonality with either the C30A nor the C32B NSX motors. Block, heads, crank, rods, pistons, manifolds, all different.
