Because the board got shutdown again because of a load of database, I had to fettle with the settings again.
As part of that, the server no longer stores what topics you have or haven't read.
IT IS STILL RECORDED!
But now, that information lives in a delicious cookie, rather than the forum database.

Upside: this should reduce the load of database.
Downside: if you use multiple devices to access the board, or you reject delicious cookies, you won't always have that information cookie. But the New Posts feature should take care of that.

If you cannot Debauch because you get an IP blacklist error, try Debauching again time. It may work immediately, it may take a few attempts. It will work eventually, I don't think I had to click debauch more than three times. Someone is overzealous at our hosting company, but only on the first couple of attempts.

You know the email (if you don't, see in the registration info below), you know where to find the Administerrerrerr on the Midget Circus.

Some unpleasant miscreant was firing incessant database queries at our server, which forced the Legal Department of our hosting company, via their Abuse subdivision, to shut us down. No I have none.
All I can do it button the hatches, and tighten up a few things. Such as time limits on how long you may take to compose a post and hit Debauch! As of 24/01/10, I've set that at 30 minutes for now.

To restrict further overloads, any unregistered users had to be locked out.
How do we know who is or isn't an unregistered user?
By forcing anyone who wants in to Log In.
Is that annoying?
Yes. But there's only so much the Administerrerrerr can do to keep this place running.

Beginning in 2003...

...There has been a day each year, that is exactly one day, one month, and one year from the previous day, where the date is consecutive, i.e. 1/2/03, 2/3/04, or this year's 8/9/10, etc. This will keep going on until 2014, assuming the world doesn't end before then (or you're in Europe, where they've only got until 11/12/13).
I also realized that there is a reverse trend that began (in America) on 2/1/00, and will keep going until this year on 12/11/10.

My birthday is on December 11th, which puts me not only at the end of the sequential dates counting down in America, but the end of the sequential dates counting UP in Europe.

That, in turn, makes it so those who are born on December 13th my allies in the unspoken word against those who were born on February 1st. (Pauly Shore, you're going down.)

This also means that I may be the son of god (and spend waaaaay to much time doing math). This thought flashed through my mind when I was putting the date on my homework.
Somebody please help me, I really need to get out of the house.

This year, for the last 9 years, and in the next 2 years, there will be a date of three similar digits. This year, it will be 10/10/10, next year 11/11/11, last year it was 09/09/09. No matter which way around you have months and days.
This will happen exactly three more times and then no more for another 99 years. So not again in our lifetimes, probably.
I find this fascinating.
If there were absolutely anything to be afraid of, don't you think I would have worn pants?

I got laser eye surgery on 6/6/06.

I was hoping for a freak accident to give me super powers, like laser vision.
I asked the clinician what the chances of that were, and she was not amused.
She as even less amused when I asked her if there would be an army of evil robot helper monkeys that would be operating any levers, switches, or dials during the procedure, that I could eventually make my minions.

I got neither.
Instead, I got a bad (not horrible, but annoying and distracting) eye job that adds to my vast collection of small but irritating health problems (I'm sure y'all can relate).
I should have waited for a day of less significance than international Slayer day. A day like 7/7/7.

On 6/606 my friends had a "Going to Hell" party. Deviled eggs Devil''s food cake, Chicken fra Diablo. You get the idea.
I showed up wearing horns, and drank a bottle of Duvel Beer.

It was fun.

That's wierd. You know, I noticed also that every day has three sets of digits in it. Like one for month, day and year. Strange.
