Because the board got shutdown again because of a load of database, I had to fettle with the settings again.
As part of that, the server no longer stores what topics you have or haven't read.
IT IS STILL RECORDED!
But now, that information lives in a delicious cookie, rather than the forum database.

Upside: this should reduce the load of database.
Downside: if you use multiple devices to access the board, or you reject delicious cookies, you won't always have that information cookie. But the New Posts feature should take care of that.

Some unpleasant miscreant was firing incessant database queries at our server, which forced the Legal Department of our hosting company, via their Abuse subdivision, to shut us down. No I have none.
All I can do it button the hatches, and tighten up a few things. Such as time limits on how long you may take to compose a post and hit Debauch! As of 24/01/10, I've set that at 30 minutes for now.

To restrict further overloads, any unregistered users had to be locked out.

Yes. But there's only so much the Administerrerrerr can do to keep this place running.

No parts.
And I think I was wrong about the location of the oil leak. I think it is coming out of a crack in the oil tank itself, and will need to be brazed.

And Xaos, I think the massive oil splat you experienced might have been chain lube. Apparently I have a can of the crappiest chain lube on Earth, because the same thing happened to me today. Fucking oily nasty shit all over the side of the bike, but it wasn't from the engine. I lubed the chain yesterday, just like I lubed it before I loaned it to you. Even though I took great care to remove all of the excess, the shit was fucking EVERYWHERE.

And lemme tell you how awesome it is to change directly out of your leathers and into a wetsuit. 4 or 5 hours or so on the bike, an hour or two in the surf, now it's off to Sushi and a concert.

Shazam.

I can't wait until California falls off and we get to have that much fun here in Colorado!
Hope the sushi and concert were as awesome as the rest of your day.

Sushi and concert were fantastic.
So tired I just don't even know what to do with myself, but it looks like the after party for the concert is going to happen in the very room which contains the couch where I was planning on sleeping tonight.

Looks like I'm gonna have to keep on charging and hope that it doesn't cut into tomorrow's plans too incredibly much. I really wanted to ride the acoustic bike in the morning and the moto in the afternoon.

Hopefully this party will be enough fun that I just don't end up giving a fuck.

Wish me luck ;)

The afterparty went somewhere else, but the DH ride never materialized.
That's OK, though, because another sick, epic moto ride did, followed by more great food and old friends. Followed by more great food, another ride, and a ~3 hour surf, all of which was topped off by EXCELLENT food on Sunday night.

I tried to make a Google map of all the riding I did this weekend, and Google maps gave me the big F.U. ...Too many waypoints. Maybe I'll get to it this week, and make maps for each day or something. All I know is that I'm stoked to have seen my friends, had so much fun, and gotten in a couple hundred miles in the saddle (which doesn't sound like much until you see the routes we took; a couple hundred miles in the saddle is pretty decent when you are going balls out around 15-25mph turns all damned day).

I feel like an entirely different person than I did last week.
