....11 days later.....
I was in the garage working on the dirtball ninja, when I see Dave the grass guy pull up with no lawn mowing equipment. When he and his wife (or mother, I haven't figured that out yet..) got out of the car, I saw the wife/mother holding a very small black dog. I was confused. I thought it must have been the the wife/mother's dog, and surely not the dobie puppy he was trying to sell me the previous week. they wouldn't take such a young puppy away from its mother for that long of a time. It was, They did.
They told me the mother rejected the puppies after 10 days. Now from what I can tell, they live in a mad house. They have a big family they can hardly control at times. The mother doberman was setup with her puppies in their kitchen. Not what you would call a quiet, stress free environment for a nursing mother of 6 puppies, especially when they take her pups all around town at 11 days old. They mean well, but they just aren't really 'with it'.
So now I'm kinda hooked. In the back of my mind, I wanted the dog to begin with. Logic is what dictated the answer I gave him to begin with. Now its a whole new ball game. I told him to hold on a minute, and I called my mother. She is an all around animal lover. She knows more than most, and has saved many animals in the past. She tells me "don't let that dog leave with them". So now, my mother is the proud new mother of an 11.. er 12! day old female doberman puppy. She will have to bottle feed it, but honestly, i have all the faith in the world that dog will be healthy as a horse with my mother in charge.
so anyway, a long badly-told story about how i got a (tiny) doberman.
