Because the board got shutdown again because of a load of database, I had to fettle with the settings again.
As part of that, the server no longer stores what topics you have or haven't read.
IT IS STILL RECORDED!
But now, that information lives in a delicious cookie, rather than the forum database.

Upside: this should reduce the load of database.
Downside: if you use multiple devices to access the board, or you reject delicious cookies, you won't always have that information cookie. But the New Posts feature should take care of that.

Beretta U22 Neos. For plinking, small game and zombies.

I wouldn't use that little thing on a zombie, it'll just piss him off, and then you're really in trouble.

Very nice!

Needs a "red dot" scope and you already have a mount.

I used to own one like the pic below, lots of fun at the range, every Monday night we had a competition, good times. Scope is a key, it has no magnification power but allows you to target with both eyes, once you get used to it improves your results quite a bit

Nice toys guys.
I had a Neos, I wasn't too happy with it.
It didn't live up to the standards that I thought a Baretta should.
I sold it and picked up a Browning Buck Mark which has been great.

Finally found a .22LR conversion kit for my G22. Very, very happy with it -- going to hopefully sell of my old S&W 422, which has served me well and has many years of service, but is now basically obsolete.

W/r/t the conversion kit: requires +P ammo that has a jacket of sorts; e.g., CCI Mini Mags. With those it cycles every time. You can use non-jacketed ammo, but the barrel fouls up pretty quickly, and I wouldn't want to put more than, say, 50 rounds through it without cleaning.

bndgkmf, that is dead sexy. I'm of the firm belief that any well handled piece of weaponry in the hands of a skilled user is a distinct advantage in a zombiepocolypse situation. Even a .22 round bouncing around inside a brainpan will do significant damage to the undead. I do agree about the red-dot, though.
Cheers,
Ames.

Well, I got a reflex sight for the pistol and went to the range today. After sighting in I was able to shoot quarter sized groups at 25 yards. That'll do for the varmints and such.

Cool.
Recently I've been tempted to pick up a 7.25" fluted bull bbl. Browning Buckmark with red dot that a local guy is selling for $400ish. Worth it at that price? I don't really need it, especially being an unemployed/broke college student, but am certainly tempted. I don't shoot my Sig enough as it is, maybe a .22 semi-auto would prompt me to get out plinking more.

Buckmark is not a great piece and $400 seems retail price, I'd rather have a S&W Model 21 which is new under $300 and is heluva plinker! Easy to dismantle, comes with weaver rail mount and changing barrel takes under 10 seconds (from red dot scope barrel to open site or whatever, 5" to 7" to 10" or l.r. to shorts...) seems cheap at first but simplicity is what made me love it. My buddies had Beretta, Ruger, Buckmark, neither one was easy to clean.

Rugger is probably my second favorite but cleaning is a pain till you get used to it and mounting a scope not easy unless it's already drilled for mount, but still requires purchase of the mount. I do like Mk1 for aesthetic reasons...

Here's S&W with barrel removed, one button and it comes off!

Scope mounts to the barrel so no need to sight it in very time

Same with the U22. if you look at my pictures the wheel above the trigger guard allows you to remove the whole barrel. Release the slide and that comes right of. Easy peasy.
