Because the board got shutdown again because of a load of database, I had to fettle with the settings again.
As part of that, the server no longer stores what topics you have or haven't read.
IT IS STILL RECORDED!
But now, that information lives in a delicious cookie, rather than the forum database.

Upside: this should reduce the load of database.
Downside: if you use multiple devices to access the board, or you reject delicious cookies, you won't always have that information cookie. But the New Posts feature should take care of that.

If you cannot Debauch because you get an IP blacklist error, try Debauching again time. It may work immediately, it may take a few attempts. It will work eventually, I don't think I had to click debauch more than three times. Someone is overzealous at our hosting company, but only on the first couple of attempts.

You know the email (if you don't, see in the registration info below), you know where to find the Administerrerrerr on the Midget Circus.

Some unpleasant miscreant was firing incessant database queries at our server, which forced the Legal Department of our hosting company, via their Abuse subdivision, to shut us down. No I have none.
All I can do it button the hatches, and tighten up a few things. Such as time limits on how long you may take to compose a post and hit Debauch! As of 24/01/10, I've set that at 30 minutes for now.

To restrict further overloads, any unregistered users had to be locked out.
How do we know who is or isn't an unregistered user?
By forcing anyone who wants in to Log In.
Is that annoying?
Yes. But there's only so much the Administerrerrerr can do to keep this place running.

Again, if you have any problems: get in touch.

I worked on bikes all damned day. Tackled three different projects of varying scope.
Managed to finally get my nuts out of my purse and braze the damned oil tank on the Tuono; no more partial fixes on that fuggin thing.
Swapped a fatty for a gnarly on my CR.
Did some swingarm mods to shorten the wheelbase on the KTM, as well as install new axle block style swingarm sliders.

Didn't manage to go for a ride, though.
Damnit, I want to go ride some dirt right now.

I see SOMEBODY doesn't love me enough to pay attention to every little detail of my life!

Yeah, I've got a KLX650 that I've fairly heavily modded out for dirty dirt use, and have been riding in the desert for a few years. I just started riding it on trails around here, though, and found it far too heavy to be enjoyable on more than one occasion. That being the case, I rather impulsively gobbled up a good deal on a 96 CR250 that damn near killed me the first time I rode it, because it's set up as a motocrossing mud missile, and almost launched me off a cliff.

The KTM 525 only sees dirt when it gets crashed, though... It's a supermoto, and there aren't any tracks around here with dirt sections.

I haven't gone for a real ride on public roads since about... June? July?
I'm planning on doing a group ride on Friday with a few of the local sportbike cats, but after that, I'm putting the Tuono on craigslist in a staunch effort to keep my poor lack of impulse control isolated to low consequence environments like the dirt and the track.

BTW, brazing shit is jangleplatz!
I've only played a little bit with gas welding, but I'm seriously going to start doing it more often. Very cool stuff.

I want to see what the CR looks like...off to dig through threads.
Or, you can just post a pic of it here...just for my gratification. :)
