If you cannot Debauch because you get an IP blacklist error, try Debauching again time. It may work immediately, it may take a few attempts. It will work eventually, I don't think I had to click debauch more than three times. Someone is overzealous at our hosting company, but only on the first couple of attempts.
If you have problems logging in, posting, or doing anything else, please get in touch.
You know the email (if you don't, see in the registration info below), you know where to find the Administerrerrerr on the Midget Circus.
Some unpleasant miscreant was firing incessant database queries at our server, which forced the Legal Department of our hosting company, via their Abuse subdivision, to shut us down. No I have none.
All I can do it button the hatches, and tighten up a few things. Such as time limits on how long you may take to compose a post and hit Debauch! As of 24/01/10, I've set that at 30 minutes for now.
To restrict further overloads, any unregistered users had to be locked out.
How do we know who is or isn't an unregistered user?
By forcing anyone who wants in to Log In.
Is that annoying?
Yes. But there's only so much the Administerrerrerr can do to keep this place running.
Again, if you have any problems: get in touch.

First fix:
Because the board got shutdown again because of a load of database, I had to fettle with the settings again.
As part of that, the server no longer stores what topics you have or haven't read.
IT IS STILL RECORDED!
But now, that information lives in a delicious cookie, rather than the forum database.
Upside: this should reduce the load of database.
Downside: if you use multiple devices to access the board, or you reject delicious cookies, you won't always have that information cookie. But the New Posts feature should take care of that.
PLEASE NOTIFY THE ADMINISTERRERRERR ABOUT ANY PROBLEMS!
- open the menu at the top
- hit New Posts to see what's actually new and browse the new stuff from there
- go back to the Forum Index
- open the menu at the top again
- click Mark forums read
this will zero the unread anything for you, so you can strive forth into the exciting world of the new cookie thing.

Cause I think it's cool, one of the best current drivers gets to drive The Greatest car from a turbo era. Growing up it was my dream to see those cars run. Lewis gets to take his dream one step further.
Clarkson said 1200hp but I heard that 1200 was the highest reading on the dyno dial and it was pegged. they estimated about 1500 hp from both Honda and BMW
best part at 1:50

this lap was mentioned in previous video, further proof that Senna was superhuman, thousand plus horses, no traction control, manual gear shift so he's driving on-handed

and just for good company one of the greatest starts ever

I can admit his skills as a pilot but I'm not a fan of Senna. He ended the era of gentlemen and launched the current era of businessmen.
All the mystical b*llshit when he was the first to land on the circuits with his own private jet to negotiate million $ sponsorship contracts...
I know Graham hill ended owning his own plane too, but he started as a mechanic and began to drive people's race cars in exchange of mechanical services.
I guess you already know this one:

Meeting Arnould and listening him telling us all the details of this race has been a high point of my career in the publishing industry. He said he tested shumie's modern ferrari with traction control and it had nothing to do with racing, all he had to do is break, then apply full throttle while aiming at the apex and wait for the car to decide when to release the power. I'm sure it was a little more hairy than that but he made the difference between the turbo's and the XXI century f1 cars pretty clear.

I take it that you childhood was Russian ? my publishing company fired me just as they began to work on a book about the professor (after Senna and Villeneuve amongst others) that I then refused to do for the (lack of) money they offered.MATPOC wrote:Senna was god and I always thought he was an asshole! but that does not take away his talent.

1967 was a special year for Dan Gurney and if I was alive than he probably be my childhood hero, but I grew up in the 80's behind the Iron Curtain before the internet and almost completely cut off from the world. Rare images of modern than F1 cars and occasional news only of some extraordinary events were were edited and broadcast by heavily controlled media. In the late 80's my uncle who was living in USA (and still is) sent me a calendar that had great photos of P34 Tyrrell, JPS Lotus Renault, Marboro McLaren and more, I studies each one of those 12 images for hours so naturally I thought those were the greatest cars ever made. 25 years later I still think that '88 MP4/4 was the greatest car ever built, 15 poles and 15 wins in 16 races. It was a combination of best car, engine (Honda turbo) and drives Prost and Senna, they made it look easy.

what
What do I say? Simply the greatest car/driver combo ever. In 2001 I was at the Long Beach GP and that car was on display(not a show shell). I sat down, put my hand on the driver's side front tire, and teared up like a little girl.
Just watching that vid did that to me again.
