If you cannot Debauch because you get an IP blacklist error, try Debauching again time. It may work immediately, it may take a few attempts. It will work eventually, I don't think I had to click debauch more than three times. Someone is overzealous at our hosting company, but only on the first couple of attempts.
If you have problems logging in, posting, or doing anything else, please get in touch.

Some unpleasant miscreant was firing incessant database queries at our server, which forced the Legal Department of our hosting company, via their Abuse subdivision, to shut us down. No I have none.
All I can do it button the hatches, and tighten up a few things. Such as time limits on how long you may take to compose a post and hit Debauch! As of 24/01/10, I've set that at 30 minutes for now.
To restrict further overloads, any unregistered users had to be locked out.
How do we know who is or isn't an unregistered user?
By forcing anyone who wants in to Log In.
Is that annoying?
Yes. But there's only so much the Administerrerrerr can do to keep this place running.

As part of that, the server no longer stores what topics you have or haven't read.
IT IS STILL RECORDED!
But now, that information lives in a delicious cookie, rather than the forum database.
Upside: this should reduce the load of database.
Downside: if you use multiple devices to access the board, or you reject delicious cookies, you won't always have that information cookie. But the New Posts feature should take care of that.
PLEASE NOTIFY THE ADMINISTERRERRERR ABOUT ANY PROBLEMS!
- open the menu at the top
- hit New Posts to see what's actually new and browse the new stuff from there
- go back to the Forum Index
- open the menu at the top again
- click Mark forums read
this will zero the unread anything for you, so you can strive forth into the exciting world of the new cookie thing.

I'll be fair too. I'm weighing in at about 210...take a 150 to 175 lb rider on a ZRX. HP being pretty damned close...FZ1 weighs about 30 or 40 lbs lighter than a ZRX dry. Too close to call...

Slipping the clutch for the entire 60 footer, a 1/4 mile time similar to that of a Subaru Forester (an 1/8 mile in the case of OD it seems), and wasting your track fees and your Saturday. Stop thinking Hp. You're buying something you don't use. Stop with the "research". Fast is how long it takes you to get from the bottom of the mountain to the top, and back again, regardless of machine. Numbers like weights and horsepower are of no value to the average motorcycle rider (you) because you will never, ever put those numbers to use. They cannot explain how Dozer, for instance, can outrun your ZRX through the twisties on a decrepit, rusty, heavy, broken, 25 hp CX500 that costs about $50. Motorcycling is not all math.

The track thing is something I really want to do, just to see what the bike is capable of with me on it.
Yamaha advertises a 10.5 second quarter mile time for the FZ. I'm sure that's with ideal conditions, and a pro rider. I'd expect to see something a bit off that pace with me on the bike. Hell...maybe a 12, 13, 14, 15 second quarter mile? Who knows what would it be, the reason I want to find out.

My rex is doing as good as everyone else's although we're sepearted by a thousand miles. R1,Thruxton & the track 600rr are all good and in current rotation. The other bikes are dead in the water but that's my lazy fault not theirs. Been riding the mountain bike more than all the rest though.
I took my rex to the strip once, got a best of 11.4, i've got zero launch skills, I'd rather my clutch last than lose a few tenths & i don't do burn outs to aid traction or anything. I've only been able to get an 11.1 out of my R1 which illustrates how helpful a tourqey front heavy bike like the rex is to a novice. The R1 should probably be a second quicker in the right hands I'd figure.
